The First Annual Grenache Fest was held during the weekend of November 3rd, 2023. The event featured 12 Washington and Oregon Grenache producers, whose wines were tasted side by side in a comparative style. Moderated by MJ Towler, host of the Black Wine Guy Podcast and Patrick Comiskey of Wine & Spirits. Sommelier Chauncey Arkfeld joined the panel to offer his thoughts on each wine.
The seminar was followed by a concert and grand tasting. Performers included Stephen Malkmus (of Pavement and the Jicks), M. Ward and Mark Pickerel.
The Grand Tasting featured all of the colors of Grenache as well as Grenache blends.
The following day, a casual walk-around tasting with over 20 producers pouring wines of all types.
2024 will bring even more fun, more music and more wine!
